In some ways, it seems like yesterday he left the track. At times, it seemed this week has taken forever to get here. This Thursday, Friday and Saturday the very first foals by our favorite son, two-time Breeders’ Cup Mile Dirt winner GOLDENCENTS will have their “Under Tack Shows” in Ocala, FL. Then they’ll step in the sales ring a week from today and tomorrow.

And, thus, their racetrack careers begin!

Goldencents has been blessed with a great and kind personality and great people around him.  CLICK HERE to read and enjoy Julie June Stewart’s account of his racetrack farewell.

Glenn had the mixed blessing of leading Goldencents to the van that took him to the airport…. photo by Julie June Stewart.

The result is a huge following of people cheering for him to succeed as a stallion, as he did on the racetrack.  Sooooo we are going to endeavor to make it easy for Goldencents’ fans to follow his babies on the racetrack this year – starting with his first eight foals to be offered at the March Sale of Two-year-olds in Training at the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company in Ocala, FL.

Team Rosecrest / Wilshire Farm is going to use the Rosecrest Farm Blog and the Wilshire Farm Facebook page to keep you up-to-date using the hashtag #Goldenwatch.  We’ll start off with note of when his 2-Year-olds in Training are selling, and would ADORE any updates and/or photos that you hear and pass along to us.  The very best way is via a post to the Wilshire Farm Facebook page.

Spendthrift Farm makes it easy to follow their stallions offspring’s entries, but we’re going to make it even easier by also posting the entries and results for Goldencents’ babies this year on the Wilshire Farm Facebook page.  So click on this link  and click LIKE on that Facebook page if you want to be sure you get all the information.  Plus, we’ll do highlights, from time to time, here (via Lyra’s Blog on the Rosecrest Farm website).

Now… back to the babies on stage!  There are six colts and two fillies cataloged.  Below are links to each one’s catalog page.  We’ll see what pix and links to videos we can get in the upcoming days.  And don’t be surprised if several scratch from the sale. Soooooo very much depends on the workout for each horse.  If there is bad weather, or the horse just doesn’t put in its best effort, the consignor will often scratch the horse and wait for an opportunity to sell at a more optimal time.
