It’s been a very good week at Rosecrest Farm. The sun has been shining and it only rained three days. The trees are budding, shrubs and flowers are blooming and the grass keeps getting greener. Mother Nature is doing her magic and the record low temps and snows are a distant memory.
We found out that Penrose, Yonahey and Maxnmacy are in foal (pregnant) for 2016. A big blessing is that Teresa only took off one day for Spring Break with her children, as she keeps everything running smoothly.
We had a treat this week of Isabell and Olivia and their mom Leslie returning as guests at the B & B. This time, four years later, they brought their dad. [Is the B&B really and truly already four-years-old???]
They had such a good time catching up on the current status of all the babies that they had seen in 2011, including the sweet colts — Goldencents and Lord Darby!
As you can see from the photos the girls — like those two charming colts — have really grown up. They have continued taking riding and jumping lessons and hope to one day soon adopt one of our retirees.
Last but far from least (i.e. very exciting) is that Magical Broad delivered a big healthy colt by Oxbow. Magical Broad is a stakes winning full sister to the millionaire and sire Include (sire of seven Grade I stakes winners).
She had an easy delivery even though her boy weighed in at 138 lbs. He is so solid he looks like he could be 3-weeks-old instead of newborn. Mom and baby are going great!!
So that’s 20 babies on the ground and 8 more to go.
Congratulations Magical Broad!! Your baby is beautiful and I can’t wait to see him when I come back to visit!
Thank you again Lyra and everyone at the farm! It was the greatest visit!!
Congrats on newest filly arrival & thanks for sharing pics.
